Arch-door nightstand by DryadStudios Arch-door nightstand by DryadStudios
An official name will come for these -there is a pair.
The name really should be All-these-scrap-pieces-finally-came-together-and-made-these-pretty-stands.
;)
A rather charming pair, with arched doors, cutouts on the door fronts, heavy hardware, wide top, blazes of quartersawn on everything, and a nice traditional Mission/Craftsman color.
Slightly 'blocky' and 'top heavy' perhaps, especially from this front view.
But notwithstanding that, they are a truly traditional and eye catching pair! More shots to come, naturally.
PAIR HAS JUST SOLD! This specific pair is No longer for sale, but we are still open for requests. ;)

Another beautiful set!
Definitely think of me if you guys ever make an Art Nouveau piece and need matching metalwork hardware. It's one of my very favorite styles to work in. I forge a lot in stainless steel and have a brilliant young chemist that does all my patinas. He can color my stainless hardware to look like bronze or copper...

Reminds me of the furniture made by "The Arts and Crafts Movement" late 19th Century. Absolutely Stunning!

Wonderful craftsmanship! I've gone through all your work in your gallery and this is my favorite piece. I love the old world feel about it. The pieces that make up the architecture in the door look solid, even slightly over-sized, giving the piece it's charm. I wonder, what if the top and legs of the piece were a bit wider, matching the solidity of the front?

Thanks! And keen eye, we all felt the door was a bit oversized.
the piece was already so huge, making a larger top wasn't reasonable for shipping.
And those legs were very old, we prefer much winder legs to balance all the other 'large' pieces. Good observations!

For scrap pieces, the wood seems very uniform in grain direction and color. Very well finished.

I may be influenced by the fact I was just looking at a post of Sims 2 screencaps, but this nightstand reminds me of one in the Sims (both 2 & 3).

Nice little cabinet BTW.

Very nice. You know when I looked at this, it reminded me of alice in wonderland a bit because of the 3 holes that look like keyholes.
Also I thought, what if the bottom door had another door but smaller in the middle of it. It wouldn't lead to anywhere but if you open it, maybe it would just be a painting that's pasted on back behind the smaller door and maybe even have music playing.
